Absence

Daily posting is the life-blood of the blogosphere. Without fresh material the operation withers on the vine. As you can see, we have not posted for two months, an unpardonable sin in the blogging world. We apologize for the lack of output, but such is our situation, as well as the narrow topic range we cover.

We'd like to be able to say "We'll do better." but can't make such a promise. The topic hasn't completely been drained of content, but there's less to say this year than last. Still there are things to be voiced, and perhaps we can bring these to you.

Comments:
I was just wondering the other day what happened to this blog, so it's good to see an update. As a pilot, there are certainly other topics I'd like to see you write about -- what it's like day to day to work in Flight Service & ATC, stuff like that. Interesting happenings or events. Just a suggestion for those days when there isn't much to blast at Lockheed or the FAA.

General aviation is dying. Fewer, older pilots, more accidents. Nobody cares.

I've been looking for a Blog where the current flight service employees could disclose events/trends/failings/glitches/progress (or lack of)/policies implemented or ignored/or anything else affecting their work environment as a Lockheed Martin employee. We are in the dark concerning policy making, procedural changes and what the FAA is dictating to LM. I am always amazed when I read the R&I and find some new procedure that makes no sense or makes my job more cumbersome. Our manager only asks "How high?" whenever a suggestion is made by LM.
A blog would give us a place to read about other's working conditions and a place to compare notes.

We're more than happy to hear what is occuring at facilities around the country; each seems to have various problems. Please send us your experiences via e-mails. You can find a contact link under 'View my complete profile' on the main page.
